Famous pop star Sertab Erener is well recognized with her albums which have sold over 4 million copies and won platinum and gold records. She is also remembered with the duets she has done with great artists like Ricky Martin, Jose Carreras. She had a worldwide fame after wining the Eurovision song contest in 2003. It was the first time Turkey won first place in this contest thus far. International award winning composer and pianist Fahir Atakoğlu, is also well known in the fields of large symphonic works and film music. He has performed in various music festivals in Europe and across the USA.
