TALL Election Update

On behalf of TALL (Turkish American Ladies League) Board of Directors, we would like to thank all of our members and their friends who joined us for an appetizing brunch and Membership Tea on Sunday November 18, 2007 at Naime Berkoz's residence.

Over 50 guests enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon overlooking Tarzana's beautiful view from Naime Berkoz's evergreen garden full of flowers, catching up with old friends, meeting new people and all the while drinking fresh brewed aromatic Turkish tea along with a plate filled with home made pastries and other goodies.
 
Following a brief introduction by the president Asuman Yilmaz, TALL held its annual election. Funda Gurgoze, a successful retail business owner from Redondo Beach, joined the Board of Directors of TALL, where two previous directors, Naime Berkoz and Hafize Turgut were re-elected. Arzu Simsek gave information on the TALL's financials.
 
In the continuing tradition of commitment to improving our members' quality of life, TALL, hosted a speech, by Dr. Varol Togay, a Turkish American cardiologist-electro physiologist from Thousand Oaks, on how women can obtain and maintain good heart health and live an active and healthy lifestyle. A special thank goes to Dr. Togay, for improving our lives with such a life changing and informative lecture. 
 
Following the interactive question and answer session with Dr. Togay, there was a door prize raffle, and one of our members won a roundtrip plane ticket good for a trip within the continental US!
 
Vega Sankur gave an update about Arslanbey, the ATASC School in Turkey.  Sema Basol's talk about her involvement in the project "Global Women's Leadership Network" was also very encouraging for the future of Turkish women.
