2012 ATASC General Election & Results

Dear Turkish American Community of Southern California,

ATASC had its General Assembly and Elections this Sunday, Jan 29, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. It is our pleasure to announce that our two open Board of Director positions were filled with Dr. Javid Huseynov and Ms. Burcu Tansu; each for a 2 year term. We welcome Javid and welcome back Burcu to the ATASC BOD and expect that we will have another strong year in 2012 with your help and support.

Before the elections, ATASC president and treasurer presented the annual reports followed by the presentations of the local chapters LATAA, OCTAA, ATASC-SD and VATAN and the Q & A session.

During the lunch break which was sponsored by ATASC and ATAA, a keynote speech was given by our new consul Aydin Topcu.

After the elections, the Grassroots and the Student Outreach program was organized with the attendance and speeches by

We would like to extend our thanks to the college students who have attended the events on January 29, 2012.

ATASC thanks all who attended, presented, and to those who sent in their proxies. You made this a very lively meeting. We specially thank Ms. Sevda Aleckson who served on ATASC BOD for the last 2 years and was instrumental for new ATASC Bylaws and many organizational improvements.
