Dear ATASC Members,
The General Assembly meeting is open to all of the members of the Organization. Members are invited to participate and vote in person at the General Assembly Meeting. However, in order to cast your votes, you must be a member in good standing (i.e., paid membership through 12/31/2011) with ATASC or its Chapter organizations (ATASC-SD, LATAA, OCTAA, TALL, and VATAN). Following the election, the ballots will be counted and results will be announced by one of the Election Committee members. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can send a written voter proxy (sample at bottom of message) with one of the members in good standing.
In accordance with the ATASC Bylaws, dated October 29, 2010, Article II Qualifications of Directors, the candidate who meets the following criteria may run for the ATASC Board:
- A member in good standing with ATASC and/or its Chapters (i.e., paid membership through 12/31/2011);
- A resident of Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, San Diego County, or Santa Barbara County; and
- A member who has served for a minimum of one year on the ATASC and/or Chapters’ Boards (ATASC-SD, LATAA, OCTAA, TALL, and VATAN).
Please identify candidates who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors (you may also nominate yourself). Please e-mail the Election Committee Chair Leyla Cohen at info@atasc.org by January 19, 2012 with the following information:
- Name of Nominee/Candidate;
- Name of Nominator;
- “Statement of Interest” indicating why he/she is interested in serving on the Board of Directors; and
- Photograph in .jpg, .bmp, .gif, or .pdf format.
The Election Committee (Leyla Cohen, Hafize Turgut, and Murat Mese) will post the candidates photos and their statements of interest on the ATASC’s website (www.atasc.org) and forward them to the members list via e-mail prior to the General Assembly meeting.
During the General Assembly Meeting, ATASC President and Treasurer as well as each of the Chapter Presidents will present a summary of their achievements, finances, and any future plans.
