There is an opportunity for young people to improve their Turkish through the STARTALK program in UCLA this summer – if there is enough interest from the Community. If there are enough young people (approx. 15-20 years old ) who are interested to attend UCLA summer school, UCLA will apply for a grant to offer Turkish classes. Sevgili Vega Hanim,
Sizinle gecen gece UCLA’de konserde karsilastik. Ben UCLA’de Turkce dersleri veriyorum. UCLA’de “STARTALK” adli bir program var. Bu program araciligi ile yazin bir ayligina Guney Kaliforniya’da yasayan genc ogrenciler icin (15-20) yas arasi, Turkce dersi vermek istiyorlar. Eger Guney Kaliforniya’da yasaan aileler yeteri kadar ilgi gosterirlerse bu programi acmak istiyorlar. Buna para bulmak icin hukumete basvuracaklar. Derse gelmek isteyen ogrencilerden $150 gibi az miktar para alacaklar ve ogrenciler bir ay (veya hafta) intensive olarak Turkce ogrenecekler. Boylece bir program baslatmalari icin yeteri kadar ilgi olabilir mi acaba? Dersin acilmasi icin 10 kadar ogrenciye ihtiyac varmis (daha da az ogrenci olabiliyor).
